GCL Diesel Certified Refurbished Products are pre-owned products that undergo GCL Diesel’s stringent refurbishment process prior to being offered for sale. Every unit is evaluated and tested to ensure it meets GCL Diesel’s quality standards.

The injector is cleaned with an ultrasonic bath for 15 minutes using a solution called Bio Clean. This solution cleans off carbon soot, oil and any other contaminants. The injector is then moved over to the test bench were we perform an internal and nozzle flush. During this flush we are able to visually check the spray pattern of each injector to ensure the nozzle has a proper spray pattern.

If the injector passes the internal and nozzle flushes, we clean the injector again to ensure that there are no foreign contaminates remaining.

Our technicians will now perform a visual and electrical inspection, in which they are looking for any external damage to the body of the injector and the nozzle itself. Types of damage we are looking for is pitting, score marks, and abnormalities within the injector itself.

An ohm reading is then performed to ensure the solenoid is working properly and is not grounding out internally on the injector.

Specialized diagnostic test equipment is now used to ensure the injector meets quality standards for 5 different testing applications.

First is a two part test in which we are checking for leaks which is performed at a low pressure of 50 MPa. The second test is a high pressure of 160 MPa. These tests verify that the injector is not leaking and is safe to proceed with the remaining procedures.

Finally, we test VL (full load), TL (part load), LL (idle) and VE (pre-injection).

Each injector will have its own testing report. This test report shows precisely how the injector performed on each test. Also included in the report is the serial number, part number and the type of injector.

Every injector will have this report in the box with the injector and will also be retained on file at GCL Diesel for future reference.

The injector is again cleaned and re-sealed with a new o-ring and tip gasket. It is then placed in bubble wrap packing and into its own box along with that injector’s specific and serialized test report and warranty card. After boxing, it is finally labelled with the part number and serial number and ready for sale.
